Dues Payment Method Options
2025 Shady Beach Maintenance Dues and Marina fees payment options
The maintenance fees are due by 3/31/2025 on April 1st a $50 late fee will be assessed to your account.
Maintenance fees must be paid in order to participate in boating and other amenities of Shady Beach. The beauty and value of our unique community depends on all residents contributing to the upkeep and improvement of our neighborhood.
As you should be aware by now, our new ShadyBeach.org website is now a full-blown community site. With many community communication features beyond our previous info and news site. In addition, the system has a full online payment and accounting system. Since it is brand new to us, 2025 is a transition year and therefore requires additional effort by our volunteer accounting team Jill Segal and Rick Cumbo. So a big Thank You shout out to them!
You can now pay by Check, Venmo or Credit Card.
Renew Online but pay by Check via Mail or Drop-Off
The benefit of this approach is that it is a free transfer of funds method. By going through the steps below, the built-in accounting program will capture your information and make less work for Jill & Rick. Since it is a slower method, there will be a few days delay for your profile to show your payment. In addition you will confirm or update any of your contact information in the process.
Follow these steps:
1. Login at ShadyBeach.org
2. Click on "Your Profile" on the upper right blue bar. (Your account balance shown on the top of the page will start at $0 until you complete your renewal with your selected options in the next steps.)
3. Select "Renew Your Membership" link on the left side.
4. Select your Membership Type (3 options general member, renter or board member)
5. Review and correct any of your contact info on the form and agree to the SBIA Rules Agreement and Select any additional options that you want to include and click the Save button.
6. The next page will show you a summary with a link at bottom "View Payment Instructions" Click on the link to next step.
7. You will now see an invoice that includes all of your selected options. To pay by check, click the print button to print invoice including mailing instructions.
8. If you would like to include a donation to the fireworks or music on the lake with your payment. Write the donation info (Amount and "fireworks" and/or "music") on the printed invoice and add the amount to the total amount.
9. Write a check for the total amount and include with the invoice.
10. Mail or drop-off to Jill Segal at 3835 LAKEVIEW, ORCHARD LAKE, MI 48324
Renew by check with Old Form Method
You can still renew with the standard form we have used in previous years. Although perhaps appearing simpler, this method requires extra work by Jill to add the info into the new accounting system. Plus the online method helps you update any of your contact information directly. For those reasons we prefer, and encourage you, to use the Online by Check method described above, but if that is not feasible, please follow these steps:
Renew Online and pay by ACH or Credit Card
The benefit of these approaches are that they are fast and convenient, however there are transaction fees that get paid to Stripe and the Credit Card companies for the convenience.
- The ACH fee is .8% (with max of $5.00) plus $2.00 with the total maximum fee of $7.00. For example the fee for $350 dues is $4.80
- The CC fee is 2.9% plus $0.80. The CC fee for $350 dues is $11.28. Note that under $60 transactions, the CC fee is lower than ACH but becomes substantially larger with larger transactions where the ACH fees become flat. See graph below.
By going through the steps below, the built-in accounting program will capture your information and make less work for Jill & Rick.
